Beginning in high school (Photography I with Mr. Whipflea to be exact), photography has been a persistent passion, black and white photography in particular. This section is devoted to my eclectic tastes since photographs vary from my world travels to scenes form around the house.
This first "exhibit" is a grouping of Moroccan doors taken during my internship last summer (2010) while working at the National Advisory Council on Human Rights. We were centered in Rabat, the capital city, living with a host family in the Medina (or the Old City) but had the opportunity Friday after work until Sunday evening to explore, and took full advantage of that limited time. Among my favorite memories of our many adventures are wandering the souks and cobbled streets of Fez (my favorite weekend mini-vacation), sunbathing at Meknes (a tiny Mediterranean beach town with cafes and dishes that were strongly reminiscent of Spain), drinking a dirty martini (my drink of choice) at Rick's cafe in Casablanca, and proving that the human body is fully capable of melting into a puddle while braving the heat in Marrakesh.
Some shots from around NYC (no doors this time)
